Mush your own team 20-45 kilometers/day. Trips are led by an experienced dog musher who serves as your guide and instructor. One day to multi day/overnight trips. Trips are limited to six participants. Day trips available mid December through end of March depending on snow conditions. Minnesota Boundary Waters (BWCA) multi day dog mushing trips are available from mid January through mid March. We then move to the Northwest Territories where trips are offered until the end of April.
Directing Boundary Country's dogsledding adventure is Arleigh Jorgenson. Arleigh is recognized as one of North America's leading mushers. Working with sled dogs has been Arleigh's livelihood for over 20 years. Choosing to pursue his love for sled dogs after receiving a Bachelors's degree in Philosophy and Master's in Theology, he settled in Grand Marais. Here he lives in a log cabin on an old homestead farm with his kennel of l00 Alaskan Huskies.
Our program, under Arleigh's leadership, was chosen by Turner Publications in The Ultimate Adventure Source Book as North America's top sled dog program. First night in at Poplar Creek Guesthouse B&B. Next day drive to Kennel. At the kennel you help harness your own team of five to six huskies; then climb aboard the sled runners for an exciting dog sled adventure through wild lands of the Kadunce River Valley. A musher instructor/guide accompanies you on a separate sled. Return to Guesthouse for your last night. NOTE: These trips are not rides. One should approach these trips as if going on a multi-day trip with appropriate winter outdoor clothing. A clothing list is sent out with each confirmation.
One full day trip includes two nights lodging in Dorothy's room, two breakfasts, one hearty trail lunch, one day mushing. Other meals on own at local restaurants.
One-half day trip includes two nights lodging in Dorothy's room, two breakfasts, one-half day mushing. Other meals on own at local restaurants or use the Bed & Breakfast guest kitchen to prepare your own meal.

Two day trip includes two days of mushing and two nights lodging. Lodging is in a yurt and in a cabin or bed and breakfast. Three day trip includes three days of mushing and three nights lodging. Four day trip includes four days of mushing and four nights lodging. Lodging is in a cabin or bed and breakfast and one night in a yurt. All meals provided. Mush 75 to 80 miles through the BWCAW and Superior National Forest near the Gunflint Trail. Each person has own sled for entire trip. NOTE: A clothing list is sent out with each confirmation. Warm boots, hat, mittens are a must.
Optional: Lodging upon your arrival at the Poplar Creek Guesthouse B&B, from where you begin your trip the next morning. Price quoted upon request.

The Across the Boundary Waters trip is our premiere Minnesota trip of the season. Participants mush through some of our area's most beautiful and remote wilderness. Trip includes five days of mushing, all meals and six nights lodging including three nights in cabin or bed and breakfast and a night in a yurt and two nights in an "Arctic Oven" tent heated by wood heaters. Each person has own sled for entire trip.
This trip may also start and end from the kennel and not proceed into the wilderness area should the weather dictate this.

Mush to a remote corner of the BWCA wilderness without predetermined routes or stopping points. Our self-contained journey will move in rhythm with nature, driven by group desires and the determination of our sled dogs. Includes, six days of dog sledding, first and last night in modern cabin or bed and breakfast and five nights in "Arctic Oven" tents with wood heaters. Expedition tents, wood stove and winter tested sleeping bags keep you warm and dry at night. All meals starting with breakfast your first morning included. Each person has own sled for entire trip.
This trip may also start and end from the kennel and not proceed into the wilderness area should the weather dictate this. Usually end of February to second week in March.
